West Side School District Receives $2,500 AgWest Grant to Improve School Accessibility

Dayton, ID – West Side School District is pleased to announce it has received a $2,500 Rural Community Grant from AgWest Farm Credit to help purchase Automated Push-Button Door Openers for its schools.

“These door openers will make a meaningful difference for students, families, staff, and community members with disabilities or limited mobility who struggle with heavy doors,” said Tyler Telford, superintendent. “Being able to enter our schools safely and independently matters. We are sincerely grateful to AgWest for helping make our schools more accessible and welcoming for years to come.”

AgWest’s Rural Community Grants provide funds to non-profit organizations for projects that improve rural communities within Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. This includes efforts such as building or improving facilities; purchasing necessary equipment to facilitate a local program; and funding capital improvements which enhance a community’s infrastructure, viability and prosperity.
